Terms of Use
Last updated October 27, 2026
1. Agreement
Southwest River Watch (the "Site", southwestriverwatch.com) is owned and operated by Tyler Webb, doing business as Zion Canyon Light ("we", "us"). By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
2. What the Site is
The Site shows publicly available river gauge readings, weather alerts and radar, together with its own estimates (for example flood-wave arrival times and runoff from radar rain). Estimates are produced by computer models, are labelled as estimates, and can be badly wrong. Gauges fail, data arrive late, and flash floods often begin where no gauge or radar can see them.
3. No warranty; use at your own risk
The Site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, timeliness, completeness, availability, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Do not rely on the Site to decide whether a place is safe. You are solely responsible for your decisions and your safety and that of anyone with you.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tyler Webb and Zion Canyon Light will not be liable for any death, injury, loss or damage of any kind (direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or otherwise) arising from use of, or inability to use, the Site or its information, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
5. Copyright and trademarks
© 2026 Tyler Webb / Zion Canyon Light. All rights reserved. The Site's design, layout, maps, styling, text, graphics, logo, software code and the selection and arrangement of its content are protected by copyright and other laws. Southwest River Watch™ and the wave logo are trademarks of Zion Canyon Light.
You may view the Site and share links to it, and share screenshots for personal, news or safety purposes with credit to "Southwest River Watch". You may not copy, reproduce, republish, scrape, frame, mirror, sell or create derivative works from the Site's design, code or content, or use its name or logo, without written permission.
6. Third-party data
River data come from the U.S. Geological Survey; watches, warnings, forecasts and flood stages from the National Weather Service; radar from NWS NEXRAD via the Iowa Environmental Mesonet; river lines, roads and terrain from USGS and ESA WorldCover; imagery from Esri and its providers. These sources keep their own rights and terms. U.S. government data are generally in the public domain; their inclusion here does not imply endorsement. Links to other sites are provided for convenience only.
7. Acceptable use
Do not interfere with the Site, overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities, or access it with automated tools beyond normal browsing.
8. Changes
The Site and these Terms may change or the Site may stop at any time without notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
